Student Life
As a student in the Ministry Institute you will have the opportunity to experience hands-on ministry within Puyallup Foursquare United Generation Ministry. Foursquare United includes JHigh (junior high), Foursquare High School, and The "U" (college-aged) ministries. Students of Ministry Institute will play a key role in the facilitation of all Generations services, event planning, campus ministries, as well as shepherding the youth within our community.
With leadership comes the need for biblical knowledge and foundation. Students will be enrolled with Northwest University through a program called Ministry Head Start. The curriculum includes six fully accredited core biblical classes.
In addition to these accredited classes, students will also benefit from more practical teaching within the Ministry Institute curriculum taught by the staff of Puyallup Foursquare and other specialists in their respective fields.
Employment
As a Ministry Institute student, you will be required to hold part time employment with a minimum of 10 hours a week. This will allow students to meet additional expenses as well as maintain a well-rounded lifestyle working within the church and the community.
Relationship Agreement
This season, as a Ministry Institute student, will be dedicated for the development of intimacy with God and His word. In order to be focused on developing character and leadership, we require that students abstain from all dating relationships.
Intensives
It is our goal that students of Ministry Institute will be given opportunities to grow as leaders as well as personally. As a part of their experience in M.I., students will be participating in several planned intensives. These "intensives" are designed to present them with new situations or environments that will challenge them to work as a team and grow spiritually, mentally, as well as physically. Students will develop confidence in themselves as leaders and as a member of a unified team.
Mission Trips
Each year the Ministry Institute will be participating in a mission trip. The locations will be determined at the beginning of each year. In the past, students have had many opportunities including re-building homes from Hurricane Katrina, to delivering supplies to orphans in Borneo. We believe that the most important call to ministry is to serve others. Matt 25:40
